ffiondove_20The Questions & Answers
I've pieced together a few details about your job, but still don't really know what you do or how you came to do it. 'splain, please.
Mr ffiondove and I have a country house hotel here in South Wales, we have owned this hotel for 14 years and it runs our lives. Before this we were in partnership with my sister and her husband (also Italian) in the hotel that they still own and run and even before that we were all in partnership in a lovely little restaurant (could it be that it was all so simple then?) We decided to leave the partnership and buy our own hotel when the children started to grow up and get more expensive....it was a difficult time and there were a few arguements but we all get on very well indeed now.
I was a medical secretary before I got involved with this man and had his children and now they have children and I have to plan in advance to have 5 mins to exfoliate!! Anyway our hotel has 16 double en suite rooms and 2 two bedroomed cottages, we do weddings, christenings, conferences ,birthdays, funerals in fact anything you can't fit into your own home. We also have a a la carte restaurant which is quite busy.
2. If you could live anywhere in the world - money no object - where would it be, and why.
Thats easy, Calabria in Southern Italy, because its beautiful and unspoilt and I love the little villages and the mountains and rivers and the sea and the weather...the people are laid back and friendly and so interested in you, also its not too far from here so I can visit often, we are in fact having a house built there which should be ready in Aug/Sept but we won't be able to live there for some time.
What book/movie/song (pick one, two or all three if you're feeling talkative, but no more than one from any category) has had an ongoing impact on you life/your outlook, and how.
The Book: I have to say Little Women as its the first book that ever gripped me and took me away from myself, I read it when I was about 9/10 years old and it taught me the pleasure and power of the written word and how you can feel emotions through reading, I have read it many times since.
The Film: Soldier Blue, for the first time I realized there was another side to the story concerning native americans......not that the film was historically correct but it made me think.
4. You're living in an alternate universe where you are single and whatever age you choose to be, and you are about to marry your celebrity crush, Who is he, and why do you love him?
I know its not very sensible of me but it would be Sean Bean because I would just have to, I don't really care what age we would be. I think I am so attracted to Sean because there is something very familiar about him...i don't know what it is but I seem to know him......maybe I knew him in another life? *shrugs helplessly* I would just have to have him.
5.What's your favourite daydream.
In our town there is a row of tiny little terraced cottages called Grove Terrace, they have a lounge, little kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms and front and back cottage gardens, they are all painted in different pastel shades, pale green, pale primrose, sugar pink etc very very pretty and peaceful, when my husband/kids/grandkids/sisters/mother/cutomers are getting on my nerves and driving me mad....I imagine I live there alone in peace....and Sean comes to visit me.
