My sister (you all may remember she got married in April) has just bought a lovely little cafe.......its inside an old renovated pumping station which has been converted into lots of little antique and bric a brac stalls, it is located on the main road from Cardiff to Penarth, she took over about a fortnight ago and we have all been down for lunch and coffee a few times to help support and encourage. Its a lovely little place, open from 10 til 5 so the hours a nice and easy. Myself and my other 2 sisters went down yesterday for lunch and it was lovely, while we were there a cousin turned up and then my mother with a couple of friends so it turned into a very long lunch time, there is nothing complicated on the menu, baked potatoes with different fillings and various quiches also toasted paninis with various fillings, I love these but can't eat too many of them.....very fattening!
She should do well with it if she works hard, there are 4 floors of stalls so it attracts a lot of people and the traders all eat in the cafe and call in for coffee........my sister has been a security guard at Cardiff University for years and felt it was time to come in from the cold......wish her luck shes a lovely girl and very generous with her portions.....if you'll pardon the expression!
Today I'm taking grandaughter to lunch.....can't wait and tonight grandson is sleeping over as usual, he has lost a tooth and looking forward to giving us the gory details.

Oh, it sounds like a wonderful place! I *love* spending hours wandering around places like that. I wish your sister all the best with and and hope it works out well for her.

Have fun with the grandchildren. Will your grandson find a shilling under his pillow tonight, from the tooth fairy? What fun!

The place has some lovely bits and pieces on the different stalls, I'll try and get some pics.....some of the large furniture is really old....just beautiful.
About the tooth.....a shilling.....Sue! have you forgotten inflation? it's a pound at least these days!

A pound for a tooth?!!! Wow!! I must be really old, cause I only used to get a Canadian quarter, 25 cents.
