Yippee!

Just spoke to my Mum on the phone and she has agreed to have our youngest son to stay with her while mr ffiondove and I go to Italy on the 16th. Oct. we have decided to go by car and have a little amble through France and the Italian lakes on route. The journey normally takes us 3 days but we shall be taking our time...we are not booking anything...just going. This is the first time I have ever left the youngest for more than 2 nights and my heart is thumping just telling you guys about it! of course there is no one better to leave him with than my mother who will spoil him rotten, she will probably end up getting extra visits from his older brothers because they will be jealous of him getting Grandmas cooking for over two weeks.
I'll be sure and take lots of pics of all sort of cultural stuff (sorry no half naked guys on the beach at this time of the year).

Sounds lovely lucky you - have just got back from really tough court hearing and am feeling knackered!

He'll be fine with your Mum, you're making me feel guilty, C has stayed at my sisters for a week before now and she isn't 9 yet! she's at her Nana's today actually - feeling sick and so not at school.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. I'm getting itchy feet, actually, reading about all these wonderful vacations everyone's going on. And I'm sure your youngest will do fine. It'll probably seem like fun to him to switch venues (and yet still be somewhere familiar) like that.
