More Car Trouble!
Oct. 5th, 2005 03:45 pmQuick!.....someone give me a nice hot cuppa and a choccy biccie (cookie) I've just had a nightmare time with our Land Rover, I went shopping and banking and mooching around town, then I remembered I promised middle son, who is in Amsterdam at the moment, that I would bank some cheques for him so I turned round and went back to town....parked the car and got out...there was a funny smell and a loud hissing noise, the bonnet of the car was billowing smoke, of course a small group of interested men gathered around to shake their heads and mutter bollocks about women drivers.....held my temper admirably - got on phone to husband and after a short conversation realised I had the keys of our other car in my handbag AND our house keys (so he couldn't get the spares) and I was pretty much on my own......so I locked the car, toddled down to the nearest garage which also happens to be the one we use and threw myself on the mercy of the head mechanic.........who is my cousin M......one of the many advantages of living in the town I was born in is that more or less everyone is related to me or someone I know - anyway, its the head gas....erm.....gas....gasket???? well its going to be expensive.
That sucks!

Date: 2005-10-05 05:27 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've had a head gasket go on a car before, and they are very expensive. Just one of those things we have to put up with when we own a car.
Hope your hubby gave you that cuppa and biccie when you finally got home! *hugs*
